Avarten: Regleringsdemokratin

Regulatory Democracy:

[…] In a fully developed regulatory democracy, power has passed entirely from citizens into the hands of a shadowy elite that runs the country via mercantilism, by pulling the regulatory levers of government for its own benefit. The more regulations there are, the more actual control this elite has. Finally, citizens are entirely bound by regulation; their every action controlled by an unelected bureaucracy and their lives tightly ruled by what they can and cannot do. Their estates are stripped by taxes; their children come under the mind control of public schools; their sons and daughters, having matriculated, join the military for lack of better employment and are sent overseas to pursue foreign wars; their professional venues are controlled by the options offered to them by regulatory democracy – and these venues often reinforce the worst and most petty aspects of the degenerating society itself.

Edward Snowden: A Limited Hangout Operation …

Daily Bell (R.I.P.) har sina spekulationer i artikeln, ”Is Snowden for Real? Doubts Set In”, om hur slipstenen vevats i detta fall:

[…] One idea floated by a feedbacker is that the powers-that-be, panicked by the Internet, have decided to sacrifice the ultimate dominant social theme, that government knows best. This never occurred to us, but it does make a kind of hazy sense. If the idea is to introduce chaos into the Western world (and so create a more globalist state), what better way to do it then to undermine the legitimacy of the nation-state itself?

[…] Again, we are not accusing Snowden or any of the others around him of deliberately creating something other than what it seems to be. We are merely speculating that at the very top of these enterprises, there is a level of control not easily analyzed but nonetheless present.

The Guardian is a leftist newspaper, the executive branch of which is staffed at the top by a former Morgan Stanley alum. It is a mainstream publication. The idea that this episode continues even now, days later, and is charted in detail by the mainstream media is simply puzzling to us. We’ve seen plenty of instances where compelling articles about regulatory democracy have been snuffed out simply by a lack of media coverage. This scandal has legs. Why?

Jon Rappoport: Who is Edward Snowden?

[…] If you can’t separate Snowden’s minor revelations from the question of who he is, if you can’t entertain the notion that covert ops and intelligence-agency games are reeking with cover stories, false trails, and limited hangouts, you need more fun in your life. […] If you buy that without further inquiry, I have condos for sale on the dark side of the moon.

NSA? CIA? These guys live for high-level bullshit. They get down on their knees and worship it. They fall into a suicidal funk if they aren’t lying on at least three or four levels at once.

[…] Here is a more likely scenario:

Snowden never saw any of those thousands of documents on an NSA computer. Never happened. He didn’t hack in. He didn’t steal anything.

He was working an op, either as a dupe or knowingly. He was working for…well, let’s see, who would that be?

Who was he working for before he entered the private sector and wound up at NSA?

The CIA.

Would that be the same CIA who hates the NSA with a venomous fervor?

Would that be the same CIA who’s been engaged in a turf war with NSA for decades?

The same CIA who’s watched their own prestige and funding diminish, as human intelligence has given way to electronic snooping?

Yes, it would be. CIA just can’t match the NSA when it comes to gathering signals intel.

[…] Like Julian Assange and Occupy Wall Street, Edward Snowden is likely part of a larger dominant social theme, a manipulation created and supported by globalists who have created the world’s mega-surveillance state and now want to publicly enshrine it.

[…] Snowden may not know he is being manipulated. The courageous Glenn Greenwald who used him as a source may not know, either. But the Snowden affair is being blown up for one reason or another.

That is surely a cynical way of viewing the situation but, unfortunately, it is probably also the correct one. Additionally, while this sounds like a grim assessment, it is not one necessarily. More about that at the end of this article.

Let’s speculate about the forces motivating a Snowden gambit. First of all, the surveillance state is so big that those behind its creation cannot deny it anymore. Second, it is has been exposed constantly by the alternative media, making mainstream media look even less credible than usual.

What to do? They used to call what is going on a ”limited hangout.” What we call the Internet Reformation has perhaps forced the hands of those behind the surveillance state. Under pressure to acknowledge what is clearly taking place, they have created a great and dramatic show.

How do you do something like that? With an argument. Creating the argument is simple enough, as is the solution. With so much information available on Intel spying, the powers-that-be have apparently decided it is time to create a public discourse. Thesis (there is surveillance state) plus anti-thesis (it shouldn’t exist) yields to synthesis: Some of it is necessary.

This is how freedoms are eroded in the modern day. The initial effort is a fait accompli and then discussion occurs after its emplacement. Excesses are derided, laws are passed and people are to feel satisfied that the demos ”worked.” Lost in the whole artificial exercise is who erected the initial structure.

[…] Media manipulation exploits the difference between perception and reality. The media was long a trusted source of information for the public. Today, all the barriers that made it reliable have broken down. Yet the old perceptions remain. If a random blog is half as reliable as a New York Times article that was fact checked, edited and reviewed by multiple editors, it is twice as easy to get coverage on. So manipulators (myself included) play the volume game. We know that if we can generate enough online buzz people will assume that where there is smoke there is fire…and the unreal becomes real.

Arguments Against the Abolition of Slavery and Arguments Against the Abolition of Government (as We Know It)

Slavery is natural.

Government (as we know it) is natural.

Slavery has always existed.

Government (as we know it) has always existed.

Every society on earth has slavery.

Every society on earth has government (as we know it)

The slaves are not capable of taking care of themselves.

The people are not capable of taking care of themselves

Without masters, the slaves will die off.

Without government (as we know it), the people will die off.

Where the common people are free, they are even worse off than slaves

Where the common people have no government (as we know it), they are much worse off (e.g., Somalia).

Getting rid of slavery would occasion great bloodshed and other evils.

Getting rid of government (as we know it) would occasion great bloodshed and other evils.

Without slavery, the former slaves would run amuck, stealing, raping, killing, and generally causing mayhem.

Without government (as we know it), the people would run amuck, stealing, raping, killing, and generally causing mayhem.

Trying to get rid of slavery is foolishly utopian and impractical; only a fuzzy-headed dreamer would advance such a cockamamie proposal.

Trying to get rid of government (as we know it) is foolishly utopian and impractical; only a fuzzy-headed dreamer would advance such a cockamamie proposal.

Forget abolition. A far better plan is to keep the slaves sufficiently well fed, clothed, housed, and occasionally entertained and to take their minds off their exploitation by encouraging them to focus on the better life that awaits them in the hereafter.

Forget anarchy. A far better plan is to keep the ordinary people sufficiently well fed, clothed, housed, and entertained and to take their minds off their exploitation by encouraging them to focus on the better life that awaits them in the hereafter.

The dirty secret of Britain’s power madness: Polluting diesel generators built  in secret by foreign companies to kick in when there’s no wind for turbines –  and other insane but true eco-scandals

[…] And under the hugely costly scheme, the  National Grid is set to pay up to 12 times the normal wholesale market rate for  the electricity they generate.

One of the main beneficiaries of the stopgap  plan is the Government itself, which stands to make hundreds of millions of  pounds by leasing out the capacity of the generators in public-sector property  including NHS hospitals, prisons, military bases, police and fire headquarters,  schools and council offices.

But the losers will be consumers who can  expect yet further hikes in their electricity bills in the name of ‘combating  climate change’.

James Delingpole skriver följande i sitt blogginlägg om de brittiska gröna energigalenskaperna, ”Another day, another wind farm scandal”:

[…] The greater the proportion of our total energy capacity taken up by wind, the more unstable our grid becomes. But rather than admit the scale of the problem (already causing havoc in places like Germany), the Coalition has had to persist in the charade that renewables are an essential part of our energy mix. So rather than scrap all wind projects – the only really sensible option – we instead have to go through the nonsense of having even more expensive energy in reserve (ie diesel generators) driving up our bills by another 5 per cent.

Den heter, ”The Real Lincoln: A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War”.

Daily Bell: Put Lincoln in context. Why is continued mythology so important to the current power structure of the Anglosphere?

Thomas DiLorenzo: The state cannot tell the people that it is bankrupting them and sending their sons and daughters to die by the thousands in aggressive and unconstitutional wars so that crony capitalism can be imposed at gunpoint in foreign countries, and so that the military-industrial complex can continue to rake in billions. That might risk a revolution. So instead, they have to use the happy talk of American virtue and American exceptionalism, the ”god” of democracy,” etc. And the average American, whom the great H.L. Mencken referred to as part of the ”booboisie,” believes it.

[…] Daily Bell: Let’s ask you some tough questions that will be of interest to our readers and our critics alike. Charges have been leveled from some (disreputable) quarters that you are somehow conspiring historically with a Jesuit faction to promote historical inaccuracies regarding Lincoln since you are a professor at Loyola. Could you please explain these charges more comprehensively and then use this form to rebut them?

Thomas DiLorenzo: I don’t usually answer ”when did you stop beating your wife”- type questions since they always come from people with I.Q.s in the single digits. These are people who do not have the mental capacity to learn real economics, so they blabber on about crazy conspiracy theories. The Jesuits at Loyola actually hate me with a passion since they are, with one or two exceptions, Marxist ideologues and I am a libertarian, i.e., the devil. Read my LewRockwell.com article entitled ”Tales from an Academic Looney Bin” if you want to learn of my contempt for the Jesuits who run Loyola University Maryland.

[…] Daily Bell: Do you still believe that secession is in the offing for several or more of ”these united States”? Will it come without bloodshed?

Thomas DiLorenzo: Thank God for the former serfs of the Soviet empire that they only had a totalitariancommunist like Gorbachev to deal with and not a Lincoln. Peaceful secession is the only way out of the new slavery for the average American, and it will only happen if we have a president who is more like Gorbachev than Lincoln. That is one more reason why the Lincoln myth needs to be destroyed.

[…] Lincoln mythology is the ideological cornerstone of American statism. He was in reality the most hated of all American presidents during his lifetime according to an excellent book by historian Larry Tagg entitled The Unpopular Mr. Lincoln: America’s Most Reviled President. He was so hated in the North that the New York Times editorialized a wish that he would be assassinated.

This is perfectly understandable: He illegally suspended Habeas Corpus and imprisoned tens of thousands of Northern political critics without due process; shut down over 300 opposition newspapers; committed treason by invading the Southern states (Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution defines treason as ”only levying war upon the states” or ”giving aid and comfort to their enemies,” which of course is exactly what Lincoln did). He enforced military conscription with the murder of hundreds of New York City draft protesters in 1863 and with the mass execution of deserters from his army. He deported a congressional critic (Democratic Congressman Clement Vallandigham of Ohio); confiscated firearms; and issued an arrest warrant for the Chief Justice when the jurist issued an opinion that only Congress could legally suspend Habeas Corpus. He waged an unnecessary war (all other countries ended slavery peacefully in that century) that resulted in the death of as many as 850,000 Americans according to new research published in the last two years. Standardizing for today’s population, that would be similar to 8.5 million American deaths in a four-year war.

[…] Lincoln was a nationalist and an imperialist. He was the political son of Alexander Hamilton who, as such, advocated a government that would serve the moneyed elite at the expense of the masses. Hence his lifelong advocacy of protectionist tariffs, corporate welfare, and a central bank to fund it all. This was called ”mercantilism” in the previous centuries, and was the very system the American colonists fought a revolution over.

[…] Yes, the Lincoln myth is the ideological cornerstone of ”American exceptionalism” and has long been invoked by both major political parties to ”justify” anything and everything. President Obama quoted and paraphrased Lincoln in a speech before the United Nations last September, and in his second inaugural address, to support his agenda of waging more aggressive wars in Syria, Iran, and elsewhere. Specifically, he repeated the ”All Men are Created Equal” line from the Gettysburg Address to make the case that it is somehow the duty of Americans to force ”freedom” on all men and women everywhere, all around the globe, at gunpoint if need be. This is the murderous, bankrupting, imperialistic game that Lincoln mythology is used to ”justify.”
